Director of Affordable Housing Responsibilities
Purpose of the seat:
Guides ODPF’s affordable housing strategy and connects ODPF to the broader Texas housing ecosystem.
Core duties:
• Advise on housing policy, HUD-VASH, Continuum of Care (CoC), and housing voucher programs
• Help ODPF identify and access housing-first funding streams
• Connect ODPF to public housing authorities, LIHTC developers, and community development networks
• Guide expansion of the master-lease landlord network
• Advise on partnerships with city/county housing departments
• Bring sector expertise into board strategy discussions
Ideal candidate:
Affordable housing professional, housing policy advocate, public housing authority leader, HUD/VA program specialist, LIHTC developer, McKinney-Vento advocate, or community development professional with deep Texas housing systems experience.
Time commitment:
5–7 hours per month
Term:
6-months to 1-year term, renewable
Key expectations:
Active connector uses professional network to open doors for Open Door Pathway Foundation; willing to advise the Executive Director between board meetings on housing strategy; brings sector knowledge into every board conversation.
