How It Works
Open Door Pathway Foundation leases residential homes from property owners across Texas and provides them as structured shared housing for vetted adults and veterans. We become the responsible tenant of record. We pay rent on time. We maintain the property. And we welcome carefully screened residents into safe, ordinary homes where life can settle.
This model allows us to provide stable housing quickly and efficiently, opening doors in months rather than years.

Every prospective resident is screened, interviewed, and matched to a home where they can thrive.
We do not serve: active substance users, individuals requiring clinical mental health treatment, registered sex offenders, or individuals with violent criminal histories. Open Door Pathway Foundation is an independent living provider, not a treatment facility.
From Inquiry to Move In
Open Door Pathway Foundation follows a clear, respectful intake process designed to place each resident in a home where they will succeed.
Five-Step Process:

A prospective resident, caseworker, or referral partner submits an inquiry through our website or by phone.

The Foundation reviews application materials, including background, income source, and rental history.

Each candidate participates in a brief interview to confirm fit, expectations, and readiness for shared independent living.

The resident reviews and signs the residency agreement, completes orientation, and receives a key to their new home.
Where We Serve
Open Door Pathway Foundation launches in two major Texas markets: Houston and Dallas Fort Worth. These metros face some of the largest unmet housing needs for low income adults and veterans in the state. As capacity grows, we plan thoughtful expansion across Texas and eventually into North Carolina.
