How It Works
We become the responsible tenant of record.
Open Door Pathway Foundation leases residential homes from property owners across Texas and provides them as structured shared housing for screened adults and veterans. We maintain the property and welcome residents into a safe home where life can reset and rebuild.
We Lease
The Foundation signs a master lease with the property owner.
We Prepare
The home is furnished, inspected, and prepared with house standards in place.
We Welcome
Screened residents move into a clean, comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood.
This model allows us to provide stable housing quickly and efficiently, opening doors in months rather than years.
Who Lives in Our Homes
Adults locked out of the rental market who need a safe place to rebuild.
Whether due to income, credit, background, or rental history. Our residents include:

- Adults exiting transitional housing or recovery programs

From Inquiry to Move-In
A clear, respectful intake process
Designed to place each resident in a home where they will succeed.
Inquiry
A prospective resident, caseworker, or referral partner submits an inquiry through our website or by phone.
Screening
The Foundation reviews application materials, including background check, source of income or approved rental assistance, and any other needs.
Interview
Each candidate participates in a brief interview to discuss expectations, needs, and goals for the road ahead.
Approval
Approved applicants are notified and receive their resident rules and a welcome packet. The deposit is due at this time.
Move-In
The resident receives a move-in date and the entry codes for the home and their room. First month's rent is collected at move-in.
